The I BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE GRABADO “AMIGOS DE LA HUELLA” – COLOMBIA 2027 was created with the purpose of highlighting the importance and continuing relevance of printmaking in contemporary art, bringing together and recognizing outstanding artists who, from their countries of origin, have made this discipline a fundamental reason for their artistic practice and an essential means of visual expression.

Since the creation of the Taller de Gráfica La Huella in 2005, the participation of artists and printmaking enthusiasts from different regions of the world has been continuously encouraged, promoting their meeting in Colombia through the nine editions of the Exposición Internacional de Grabado “Amigos de La Huella”. This process has involved the participation of more than 3,000 artists from more than 60 countries across the five continents, consolidating a space for exchange, dialogue, and recognition around printmaking.

After this journey, we have decided to take a new step: to create an event that contributes to consolidating and strengthening the free and voluntary participation of printmakers from around the world who have chosen printmaking as their means of artistic expression.

The I Bienal Internacional de Grabado “Amigos de La Huella” – Colombia 2027 thus emerges as a space to reaffirm that traditional printmaking techniques remain fully relevant and possess an extraordinary capacity for dialogue with contemporary artistic creation. Without entering into discussions about new techniques, processes of transformation, or the evolution of printmaking, this Biennial seeks, above all, to join efforts so that printmaking continues to occupy a significant place within the circuits and venues of contemporary art.

We want this Biennial to be, above all, a meeting point between artists, generations, techniques, and cultures; a space to share, discover, engage in dialogue, and, especially, to continue learning from those who keep their passion for printmaking alive.

WHO WE ARE

The Taller de Gráfica La Huella is a Colombian graphic arts project dedicated to the research, practice, teaching, and dissemination of traditional printmaking techniques, promoting their knowledge, preservation, and ongoing dialogue with contemporary artistic manifestations.

Our work focuses on reconnecting with traditional graphic techniques, including intaglio, screen printing, woodcut, and lithography, understood not merely as reproduction procedures, but as authentic means of artistic expression and visual languages capable of generating relevant proposals within contemporary artistic creation.

Likewise, at La Huella, we recognize drawing as one of the essential foundations of every artistic process. We understand it as a tool for thought, exploration, and visual construction that makes it possible to develop and consolidate different artistic proposals and visual languages.

Throughout its history, the Taller has developed and promoted workshops, courses, lectures, exhibitions, meetings, competitions, and projects at the local, national, and international levels, creating spaces for education, exchange, and circulation for artists, students, teachers, researchers, and lovers of printmaking.

From Colombia, La Huella works to keep the tradition of printmaking alive, strengthen its practice, and contribute to ensuring that graphic art continues to occupy a fundamental place within contemporary art.

La I BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE GRABADO “AMIGOS DE LA HUELLA” – COLOMBIA 2027 nace con el propósito de resaltar la importancia y vigencia del grabado en el arte contemporáneo, convocando y reconociendo a destacados artistas que, desde sus países de origen, han hecho de esta disciplina una razón de ser y un medio fundamental de expresión plástica.

Desde la creación del Taller de Gráfica La Huella, en el año 2005, se ha incentivado de manera permanente la participación de artistas y amantes del grabado provenientes de diferentes regiones del mundo, promoviendo su encuentro en Colombia a través de las nueve versiones de la Exposición Internacional de Grabado “Amigos de La Huella”. Este proceso ha contado con la participación de más de 3.000 artistas, procedentes de más de 60 países de los cinco continentes, consolidando un espacio de intercambio, diálogo y reconocimiento alrededor de la gráfica.

Después de este recorrido, hemos decidido dar un nuevo paso: crear un evento que contribuya a consolidar y fortalecer la participación libre y voluntaria de los grabadores del mundo que han elegido el grabado como su medio de expresión artística.

La I Bienal Internacional de Grabado “Amigos de La Huella” – Colombia 2027 nace, así, como un espacio para reafirmar que las técnicas gráficas tradicionales continúan plenamente vigentes y poseen una extraordinaria capacidad de diálogo con la creación artística contemporánea. Sin entrar en discusiones sobre las nuevas técnicas, los procesos de transformación o la evolución de la gráfica, esta Bienal busca, ante todo, sumar esfuerzos para que el grabado continúe ocupando un lugar significativo dentro de los circuitos y escenarios del arte actual.

Queremos que esta Bienal sea, ante todo, un punto de encuentro entre artistas, generaciones, técnicas y culturas; un espacio para compartir, descubrir, dialogar y, especialmente, seguir aprendiendo de quienes mantienen viva la pasión por la gráfica.

Esperamos poder compartir su trabajo y continuar aprendiendo juntos.

QUIENES SOMOS:

El Taller de Gráfica La Huella es un proyecto gráfico colombiano dedicado a la investigación, práctica, enseñanza y difusión de las técnicas tradicionales del grabado, promoviendo su conocimiento, preservación y permanente diálogo con las manifestaciones del arte contemporáneo.

Nuestro trabajo se centra en el reencuentro con las técnicas gráficas tradicionales, entre ellas la calcografía, la serigrafía, la xilografía y la litografía, entendidas no únicamente como procedimientos de reproducción, sino como auténticos medios de expresión artística y lenguajes plásticos capaces de generar propuestas vigentes dentro de la creación contemporánea.

De igual manera, en La Huella reconocemos el dibujo como uno de los fundamentos esenciales de todo proceso artístico. Lo entendemos como una herramienta de pensamiento, exploración y construcción visual que permite desarrollar y consolidar diferentes propuestas y lenguajes plásticos.

A lo largo de su trayectoria, el Taller ha desarrollado y promovido talleres, cursos, conferencias, exposiciones, encuentros, concursos y proyectos de carácter local, nacional e internacional, generando espacios de formación, intercambio y circulación para artistas, estudiantes, docentes, investigadores y amantes de la gráfica.

Desde Colombia, La Huella trabaja por mantener viva la tradición del grabado, fortalecer su práctica y contribuir a que la gráfica continúe ocupando un lugar fundamental dentro del arte contemporáneo.
